- "MAGICAL" GREEN POTION -

Nowadays lifestyle is fast and dynamic. There is no time to eat, rest or literally enjoy things. That's how S M O O T H I E S became very popular and they are a must to many of us! 

Smoothies are great for a quick breakfast, an easy and satisfying way to refuel after working out or just a perfect afternoon refreshing delight. 

Since I love everything about smoothies, I decided to share how and what I use in my daily smoothie recipes. 

First, let's briefly go through some of the vital reasons why to drink smoothies & about top benefits of green smoothies:  

1. Simple and quick to make, which is very important for our fast lifestyle. The only equipment you need is a blender;

2. Great way to eat different veggies without even realizing it. The taste of the greens is hidden by the taste of the fruit, so you don't even notice the veggies are there; 

3. Drinking green smoothies on a regular basis provides all the nutrients to your body for a natural detoxification and cleanse;

4. Easy to digest, because the ingredients are alredy blended and liquified;

5. Green smoothies will keep you hydrated and energized.

So much good things wrapped in one will for sure make you start drinking this "magical" green potion. ;) 

Whenever I'm putting a new green smoothie recipe together I use a basic smoothie formula: 

  • 2 cups greens
  • 2 cups fruits
  •  2 cups liquid base 

+  supplements for extra nutritional BOOST:

  • spirulina
  • hemp protein powder
  • nuts
  • cacao
  • acai powder
  • flax, hemp & chia seeds
  • coconut oil.

For today I chose my own favorite recipe: 

BLUEBERRY DREAMS

The Ingredients

2 cups baby spinach

1,5 cup frozen blueberries

1 banana

2 cups orange juice

The Add-ons

1 tablespoon flax seeds

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 tablespoon flaxseed oil

Show time

Add the ingredients into your high speed blender and blend until the desired consistency is reached. 

And voilà, your "magical" green potion is ready! Enjoy it, your body will appreciate it!

It's after Christmas and New Year's time and there is always going so much on about the "diets" and "detox time" from exaggerating with all the delicious food during the holidays. Well, maybe this simple but very healthy recipe of "Chia Fresca" will inspire you to drink something healthy on an every day basis! ;) 

Chia Fresca has been a popular drink in Mexico for many years now. It's made up of water, chia seeds and lemon juice. You can get my favorite chia seeds onwww.sensilab.si.

Some benefits of chia seeds:

- chia seeds are high in omega-3 fatty acids

- chia seeds are loaded with antioxidants

- chia seeds deliver a massive amount of nutrients with very few calories

- chia seeds are high in quality protein

- almost all the carbs in them are fiber 

How to make Chia Fresca?

Simple: add chia and water into a glass or bottle. Let sit for 10 minutes to allow the chia seeds to swell up. Then add lemon juice. Stir or shake well to combine and voilà, your Chia Fresca is ready!

How to do it?

STEP 1 : HAVE YOUR INGREDIENTS AND SUPPLIES READY 

(make sure fresh veggies and fruits are washed, spun or patted dry) 

STEP 2:SLICE OR CUT FRUIT INTO CHUNKS

STEP 3:MEASURE OUT THE INGREDIENTS AND PACK INTO BAGS 

(try to remove as much air as is possible from bags before placing in freezer) 

STEP 4:VOILÀ - YOUR SMOOTHIE IS READY!

KU Retreats IBIZA

Hey, my loves! Hope you are having amazing summer time! I'm back to my new place in Munich, slowly creating it into a home and I just couldn't wait to tell you everything about my last week in Ibiza. So here it is...

My last few weeks were very stressful due to my decision of moving to Germany and many changes that come with it. Every moment - while packing and saying goodbye to my loved ones - was very hard for me. Luckily, I got this amazing opportunity to visit Wellness Ku Retreats in Ibiza, and my mood suddenly lightened. You know that feeling when life starts moving in the right direction, like pieces of the puzzle starting to come together? That’s how I would describe this amazing chance to join Ku Resorts Ibiza. In the right place at the right time! I was really looking for a short escape from everything, to be with myself, to rest and recharge my batteries. And I got everything I wanted and so much more!

This was my time to switch off and de-stress from everything. I stayed in beautiful Can Pino Mountaintop Villa, which is located in stunning Ibizian hills with peaceful forest surroundings. Miguel Silva and Dominika Mayer Silva are the establishers of the beautiful Ku Retreats in Ibiza. They created a weeklong retreat with introductory program that gives participants the knowledge, practice and skills to achieve a better and healthier life style, full of vitality and relaxation. Miguel and Dominika are a truly amazing couple, their energy is just incredible. The place they created for the retreats feels like home - cosy, relaxed and peaceful. So Ku Retreats is definitely the right place for yoga, group activities, macrobiotic meals and meditation mentoring to help detox your body and soul.

I have to say that beside yoga, everything was very new to me. At first I thought I may not like the macrobiotic meals, because I never really followed any kind of diet in my life, but I gave myself a change and believe it or not, I loved it! Me and two girls, who stayed at the retreat at same time at time, were so positively surprised! The food tasted delicious! During our stay at the retreat we thought we would put on weight, because we ate so much. But now that we're back home, we saw (we stayed in touch) that we haven't gained a kilo! ;)

And what is Macrobiotics, actually?

The term “macrobiotics” comes from the Greek ‘makro’, meaning large, great or long, and bios, meaning life and it was firstly used by Hippocrates, the father of western medicine, who stated: “Let food be thy medicine, and medicine thy food.”

Macrobiotics is a system used to create health and achieve balance in your life, with food such as whole grains, pulses, sea vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. Asian yin-yang philosophy also contributes to finding balance and vitality. It may sound as a ‘hard’ diet, but actually if you really go for it, you can prepare delicious meals with these ingredients, which we enjoyed for the whole week at Ku Retreats. When I got back home, my first stop was Asian food market, where I got a few ingredients for the meals I really liked and I want to include into my everyday. One of the simplest is delicious Miso soup, which has many health benefits. Miso is a traditional Japanese soup consisting of a stock called "dashi" into which softened miso paste is mixed. A simple and easy preparation, but results in a delicious meal.

During the stay, it was such a joy starting every day with early morning meditation and yoga class with Miguel, enjoying the delicious macrobiotic meals, having pleasant conversations with Dominika - she adjusts physical exercise guidelines for each individual and she is very good at it, I have to admit! I completely opened myself to her and I really felt good after every talk we had. We finished our day with a second yoga class with the amazing Irina Sbaglia. So days at Ku Retreats are full of different activities, but everything is happening in a very relaxed and chilled way. For the first time I tried also acupuncture and the results were stunning! I tell you, Miguel is a real magician.

I'm truly blessed by being able to experience this beautiful adventure: I have connected with great people and will never forget the good vibes I had received while being there! Hey loves, I hope you had a great weekend! I started my week with a cup of healthy and delicious smoothie in one! Monday boost is all what my body needs to get the energy and healthy ingredients to start my day in a good mood! SchneeKoppe Beetroot juice has many of health benefits and if you don't like the taste of beetroot, smoothies are the best way to mix different ingredients together and make a good taste out of it. 

INGREDIENTS:

- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup Beetroot juice
- few ice cubes
- 2 tablespoons flax seeds
- 1/2 cup of blueberries

In today's post I want to share with you the quickest and the healthiest possible way to make your stomach happy! You don't have time for proper meal and you are looking for energized boost in the morning? Well today's smoothie will fill your stomach up and keep you full for quite a while. This time I included SHAPEit green love protein base which give you an extra energy with proteins, made out even for vegans! How cool is that! ;)

 

OAT-BERRY SMOOTHIE

Ingredients

2 cups strawberries ( if you don't have one, then use SHAPEit extract of raspberries flavour )
2 cups almond milk
1 frozen banana
1 cup rolled oats

Show time

Add the ingredients into your high speed blender and blend until the desired consistency is reached. And voilà, your smoothie is ready! When you are in rush, you can drink smoothie on your way in the coolest SHAPEit shaker! ;) Enjoy it, your body will appreciate it!

TODAY'S BREAKFAST

Good morning folks! Did you start your day with breakfast?

As you probably know, breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day, and for good reason; eating breakfast is a great way to get your metabolism working well for the day. When your body receives food in the morning, it tells your brain that you're going to need to start working to digest it. This wakes up the system and warms up the metabolism so it's ready to work throughout the day. When you don't eat breakfast in the morning, your body thinks that it needs to conserve the energy it has, because it isn't getting any more through nutrition. This actually slows your metabolism down, which results in a decrease in the amount of calories you burn all day long.

On my morning menu are smoothies most of the time, but I like to break the routine every few days with muesli. I'm not such a fan of fruit muesli so my today's pick is SchneeKoppe Chocolate-Cocoa Muesli with 30 % less sugar. I prefer to eat muesli with yoghurt, usually with greek one and on top of it I always add some fresh fruit. My favorite combo with Chocolate-Cocoa Muesli is banana. A simple, healthy and delicious way to start your day! Bon apetit and don't forget that breakfast in the morning will invigorate your body and give you the energy needed to get through the day!
